Group offers of support
If you feel like you need additional support but would benefit for taking part in a group setting, the Hub offers an array of group sessions that are open to all staff and volunteers across West Yorkshire.
These sessions can help with a range of issues including sleep and stress. More information on the sessions on offer below:
Towards Better Sleep
The Towards Better Sleep group is run by the Staff Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub for staff and volunteer. It has been designed to provide you with tools to improve your sleep.
It is based on sleep research and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) principles and had been designed to provide you with tools to improve your sleep. The workshop is led by a Psychological Therapist and Assistant Psychologists from the Hub.
The group will consist of two 2-hour long sessions and will take place two weeks apart. You will need to be able to attend both sessions to join the group.
Complete the Hub referral form to register your interest and to get dates of upcoming sessions.
Managing Stress
This group is a workshop by the Staff Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub for all staff, volunteers and students that work within health and social care within the West Yorkshire region (NHS and VCSE). It uses principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to provide you with tools to manage stress related to and caused by work.
The workshop is led by a Psychological Therapist and Assistant Psychologists from the Hub.
The group will consist of two 1.50-hour long sessions which will take place two weeks apart. You will need to be able to attend both sessions to join the group. When completing the referral form, please mention that you are interested in the group. All sessions are run remotely over Microsoft Teams.
Navigating Life's Challenges
Life can present with its own challenges, alongside the extra challenge that comes along with working within health and social care. 'Navigating Life's Challenges' aims to provide you with the tools to cope.
From this training, you can expect to learn about what is wellbeing vs mental health and to gain understanding of models of wellbeing to apply to your everyday.
There are upcoming dates from 17 April at 1pm - 2.30pm, 16 May at 10am - 11.30am, and 11 June at 1pm - 2.30pm.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Reflective Space
We recognise the emotional impact that you carry in your role as Equality Diversity Inclusion Chairs. The West Yorkshire Staff Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub aim to bring together chairs and co-chairs from across the region, to include Bradford, Leeds, Wakefield, Calderdale and Kirklees, to consult and
co-create a confidential safe reflective space for you.
We welcome chairs and co-chairs from all parts of the health and social care partnership including NHS, voluntary and VCSE (Voluntary, Community Social Enterprise) sectors.
This session will take place on Monday 15 April 2024, 1pm - 2.30pm. Email wyicb-bdc.
