Thank you for self-referring to the Hub. It is important that you know that we are not a crisis service so are unable to provide you with immediate support for your mental health.
I confirm that I can keep myself safe and do not need urgent support. Take me to the referral form.

About our Psychological Assessment and Therapy Service
The West Yorkshire Staff Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub is for everyone across the county who works or volunteers in health and social care, across NHS and Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations. The Hub also supports colleagues working within the Local Authority who work in health and social care roles.
The Psychological Assessment and Therapy Service supports staff who are experiencing difficulties with their wellbeing relating to or caused by their work. We understand that difficulties within people’s personal lives can also significantly affect them at work and we may also be able to support with these.
After referring to our service, we will aim to connect you with the most appropriate support, which may include signposting on to an alternative organisation for support. Please note that as we only offer short-term therapy, we are unable to take on clients for long-standing or complex issues such as developmental/childhood trauma at this time.
As a service which covers all of West Yorkshire, we are a remote service and as such can currently only offer therapeutic services remotely (either via telephone or via video call ). We are working on in-person provision going forward.
Referring to the Psychological Assessment and Therapy Service
The self-refer service is confidential and is for everyone, including volunteers and people who work in Primary Care.
We will aim to make contact you within 72 hours (working days) of your referral being submitted. Do ensure you check your voicemail and junk/spam email folder for any communications from our team. If you do not hear from us within one week of submitting your referral, please email wyhubstaffsupport@bdct.nhs.uk.
We are aware that owing to a server failure, some referrals made between 9pm on 6 November 2024 and 4pm on 11 November 2024 have not been received by the Hub team. If you made a referral during this period, please contact the Hub using the email address wyhubstaffsupport@bdct.nhs.uk as soon as possible.
In order to match the therapy request with the best possible practitioner and keep our waiting times as short as possible, the Staff Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub has partnered with a number of trusted organisations who provide a range of therapies and counselling. If, following an initial discussion with you, it appears our service may be able to support your current needs, please note that you may be contacted by one of these organisations.

Confidentiality
We pride ourselves in giving the best support and care to those who access the service. Following recent concerns in the media about confidentiality and Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) services, it is important to note that the Hub is not an EAP service and all of the therapists who work with and for us are accredited with an appropriate professional body.
The Hub will never invite anyone into the conversation without the knowledge and consent of the client. We would only share information about the sessions in the case of a risk of serious harm to the client or someone else. We are also partnered with a number of trusted organisations who provide a range of therapies, and they work within our remit and guidelines of confidentiality.
Communication is key for us and those that access the service are reassured of our confidentiality processes and policies. From our most recent annual report, 98.5% of those that access the service would recommend the therapy service within the Hub.
